With 29 operating power plants representing more than 9,300 megawatts of capacity, our East region spans 12 U.S. states and Canada, with concentrations in the Mid-Atlantic and New England markets.  Calpine is expanding its renewable fleet in this region, with two wind farms under advanced development in the state of New York.

Our Texas region includes 13 power plants capable of delivering more than 9,000 megawatts of electricity to the fast-growing Texas market. All of our Texas plants incorporate combined-cycle design, and eight are highly efficient cogeneration facilities that provide steam to industrial customers in addition to producing electricity.

Our West region primarily serves residential, industrial, business and agricultural centers in California. With more than 5,500 megawatts of natural-gas-fired capacity and 725 megawatts of reliable, renewable geothermal capacity, Calpine can produce enough power to fulfill approximately 11 percent of the state’s on-grid peak power demand.
